Balmain Hospital GP Casualty
Booth Street, Balmain - Phone: 9395 2317
The GP Casualty is open every day from 8:00a.m. to 10:00p.m. and is staffed by GPs and nurses.
The x-ray department offers plain x-rays only and is open from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. daily. Balmain GP Casualty caters for acute general practice-type problems where patients either do not have a regular GP or cannot see their usual GP. All patients seen are referred back to their usual GP for review or encouraged to find a GP in their local area as they do not provide ongoing comprehensive care.
Patients requiring urgent surgical procedures, urgent investigations other than plain x-rays, or describing potentially life-threatening symptoms, should be referred directly to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, or their nearest emergency department.
