About Stiofan MacSuibhne

Stiofan trained as an osteopath at the London School of Osteopathy, qualifying in 2001.

In 2003 he completed the British Medical Acupuncture Society’s training course in Western medical acupuncture and subsequently courses in electro-acupuncture, palliative care and women’s health.

 

Stiofan is a musculoskeletal osteopath (using manual techniques and exercise prescription) and a Western acupuncture practitioner. 

He treat patients from across the lifespan including children over 2 year of age (excluding high velocity low amplitude thrusts on children under the age of 12) and according to patient preference, uses solely osteopathic manual therapy or acupuncture or combine the two.

 

He has a number of areas that he is particularly interested in:

Stiofan uses a wide range of osteopathic manual techniques including gentle techniques suitable for children, debilitated and elderly frail patients. He is NSW WorkCover registered service provider and will treat DVA patients.

 

His practice of acupuncture is largely restricted to musculoskeletal conditions, complex pain presentations and functional disorders such irritable bowel and bladder syndromes, pregnancy related nausea, hormonal hot flushes and PCOS. He will treat patients with infertility as an adjunct to medical treatment but not as an alternative.

 

In 2012 Stiofan was appointed to the Osteopathic Council of NSW, a state health entity responsible for administering disciplinary and fitness to practice processes for NSW osteopaths.
